Ok, here’s the deal… saw the Pixies… ok, so Frank Black is fat… and they got old… and their music lost that edge… but they’re still the Pixies, so i still pulled out my lighter and then started moshing in my apartment with my christmas tree which i still haven’t taken down yet.
What an amazing band tho, if you haven’t heard the Pixies, you need to come out of the rock you’ve been living under. Do you realize how much of the music you listen to have been influenced by the Pixies?? Have some respect, man
I love you Mr. Black… you too chick bass player…
I dedicate this post to Dave Marcos who gave me the heads up to watch, who introduced me to this great band. Dave remember when the Pixies called us to hang out? Good times, bro.

Cabin Fever
I’ve done all my cleaning, I’ve watched every stinkin DVD I own, I’ve made herbal tea, I’ve even studied the effects of Viagra on lab rats… now I’m looking at photos. I found one of me and three friends in a bathtub together. I could explain, but mystery is sometimes more fun.
In other news, I was delivered some sad news today. A young man named John Hanna, a pastor in NJ passed away earlier today, from complications after an automobile accident. This week a lot of people we knew passed away, to the extent that it has become chilling.
It’s sobering when you realize how short life is, it’s freeing in a sense, but then I sometimes wonder why I am left behind (without fear of sounding cliche), and I start to think of my purpose and reason for being here.
I’ve also been thinkin bout the murders that happened in Jersey City last week. May God rest the souls of the departed, and may their murderers be found, and may the truth come out. There’s been a lot of controversy and our community is definitly being divided. The big question, how do we respond as Egyptians, as humans, as Christians? Should their be three separate responses? Is the first reaction usually the most correct? Who knows. These are questions we are all asking. In the meantime many are gripped in fear, and many are wondering what happened to the safe haven we call America.

So I decided to put in Pulp Fiction… what better movie to watch when you’re coughing up brown phlegm? the only thing that competes with the vileness that i’m expelling from my lungs, are the brain and skull remains stuck to Samuel Jackson’s blood soaked Jeri Curl.
But this movie is more about guts, and violence, and wit… it’s about grace. Even the most powerful of us need grace, no one is immune to needing it, and no one is beyond recieving it. It seems that grace is necessary for survival, for all.
Something to think about.

Alright, here’s the deal. Last week, I was chillin on the beach, at the most beautiful location on this side of the planet… Punta Del Este, Uruguay. I wish you could have been there, it was truly something. We met a lot of great people, and had some pretty priceless encounters. Ever heard of a hamburguesa completa? Aight, it’s like a burger with ham, fried egg, cheese, mayo, and a ton of grease.
We stayed at this hostel in La Barra, which is near Punta. What a great time! Seriously, if any of you make it to that part of the world, you gotta stay at this place. It’s friendly, it’s cheap, it’s home.

We spent a good amount of time in Buenos Aires. One thing I learned that was a swift kick in my egyptian butt, was a new appreciation for FOBs. Now this trip to BsAs was the first international trip i’ve taken where I wasn’t under the protection and cultural ease of being in a tour group, so I basically had to try to fit in, language, culture, etc… and it was so hard. I mean, I definitly got by, and I met a lot of great people, but it’s so stinkin tough. I spent so much energy in my past makin fun of the FOBs who go to my church :) i mean in a way, yea it’s funny, but to be in a new country with a new language, you have to learn to transfer your personality into a language you haven’t mastered… very hard.. so it’s so hard for people to really get to know you.
So I wanna dedicate this post to all the FOBs out there. this one’s for you… ehem..

Unfortunately after coming home, I caught a nasty case of bronchitis. I’ve been sick for the last 4 days, bedridden… blows.
